VPN Networking
As small businesses expand they need a secure way to remotely access their network resources. Using a VPN (Virtual Private Network) to accomplish this serves two purposes; first it acts as an initial security barrier requiring authentication and encrypting traffic, second it establishes a virtual tunnel allowing network traffic to be sent and received.
Our VPN solution is based on OpenVPN which provides SSL/TLS certificate based authentication. This inexpensively provides enterprise level security that runs on minimal hardware. Certificate based authentication thwarts brute force attacks by requiring the presence of a certificate file in addition to regular credentials to initiate communication. Certificates can be created or revoked at any time to prevent possible access from a lost laptop or former employee.
