This is a quick guide on how to disassembling a LG XNOTE P2 Laptop. This laptop uses four different screw diameters so make sure to note which screws go where. The frame assembly is attached to the LCD allowing you to take both out together. Make sure to remove all the plastic inserts (SD, PCMCIA, and Modem) before removing the motherboard.

Step 1: Remove all screws from the bottom of the laptop. Afterwards remove the hard drive, memory, and wireless card. Make sure to remove the two small screws under the hard drive and battery.

Step 2: Use a small flat head screw driver to push the four keyboard latches back then lift up the keyboard and disconnect the keyboard flex cable.

Step 3: Remove the top five screws, leave the heat sink and cdrom screws in place.

Step 4: Use a spudger or flat head screw driver to open the plastic snaps along the perimeter of the case then remove the case.

Step 5: Remove Plastic LCD hinge covers by unscrewing the black screws on either side.

Step 6: Unscrew the frame assembly, disconnect the CMOS battery, disconnect the flex & LCD cables.

Step 7: Remove frame assembly. Lift up and out.

Step 8: Unscrew/Remove the Chipset/Video heat sink
|
 |
Step 9: Unscrew/Remove Heat Sink
|
 |
Step 10: Unscrew/Remove CDROM
|
 |
Step 11: Disconnect speaker wires and remove speaker assembly
|

Step 12: Unscrew motherboard, then wiggle the motherboard out. (make sure you remove the PCMCIA, SD, and Modem plastic inserts)
